The Academy of Our Lady Alumnae Association’s All-School Reunion 2016 will be an hors d’oeuvres party from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Oak Lawn Hotel, 94th and Cicero Avenue, Oak Lawn. All alumnae are invited to attend. Graduation classes of years ending in “1” and “6” will sit together and receive a special salute. A buffet of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres will be served (cash bar). (There’s plenty of food.) We also serve cake and coffee. The food service will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
During the evening we sell raffle tickets for a number of prizes. Class photos are taken and may be ordered.
The ticket price will be $55 per person ($60 after October 10). Proceeds of the Reunion assist the AOL Alumnae Office and the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
The Hilton gives us a group rate of $129 per night for guest rooms, single or double. With taxes, it’s about $147. The hotel is making a block of rooms available at a discounted rate. To make your reservation online: http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/O/OALHIHF-AOOL-20161011/index.jhtml or call 1-800-315-1058. The hotel’s local phone number is 708-425-7800. Mention the AOL Reunion October 15 in making guest room reservations. Deadline: Sept. 23 or sooner, if our block of reserved rooms is booked before then.
On the morning of the Reunion, at 10:30 a.m., AOL alumnae and friends may visit the former AOL campus, now Chicago International Charter School, Longwood campus. Enter the campus at Loomis Street, just south of 95th Street. We will gather in the foyer of the former convent just inside the gate. A tour of the school buildings will follow a short prayer service at the Grotto. Parking is available on the campus. Reservations are not required for the campus visit.
Reservations are required for the evening Reunion. The Alumnae Board sent Reunion invitation letters to 5-year-anniversary classes in July. The letter contains a reservation form. A similar form will be included in the summer Longwood Update newsletter, soon to be in the U.S. mail. We appreciate receiving classmates’ updated contact information. That information should be sent to Irene Burke, our volunteer database coordinator, at: EyBurke@aol.com. The Alumnae Office phone number is 773-445-2300.
